We are asked this question again and again by friends, and we ask ourselves the same thing.

What has changed since our return?

I no longer get upset about faulty household appliances, after all, we saw in Tanzania that it is perfectly possible to live without a washing machine, fridge and dishwasher. I am simply happy about the convenience that these appliances offer us.

Travel is always about change. Not just a change of climate, people, and culture, but also a transformation of our thinking and awareness. Similarly, our journey to Tanzania influenced me, changed my perspective, and broadened my horizons.

What did the trip to Africa change in me?

For me, this was my first journey outside my home continent of Europe, and the first time I encountered a completely different culture. It is a significant difference between seeing other cultures on television and experiencing them in reality. Travelling to this entirely different world changed a lot for me. Above all, it deepened my awareness that not everyone enjoys the same privileges as we do here in Europe.
