International Women’s Day 2024

On International Women’s Day, the team at our learning center visited a total of 1,560 girls and women. First, they visited the middle school and handed out packages containing school supplies and feminine hygiene products to more than 700 female students. In the afternoon, they went out into the streets of the poor neighborhood and visited more than 800 women, bringing them food packages.

In the days leading up to the event, the team had prepared for the day by participating in workshops with many other women: How can we encourage women? How can we connect women through a network so they can shop together and find better earning opportunities?

Empowerment and practical support are our primary goals for all women in the poor neighborhood. Through this network, we want to train them to set goals, plan their finances, and achieve independence through education. To do this, we need all the support we can get.
