Without a scholarship, she would have no way to continue her education and learn a trade. She expresses her gratitude: \u201cYou have given me the chance to learn something. This is intended to foster reconciliation among the various groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Dankgebet muslimischer M\u00e4dchen\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/osYnXO6SlM0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Traditions of the Maasai<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Masai girls are married off at a young age, as early as 12. Many have their first child by the age of 15. We were able to send some of the girls from this group to a boarding college on a scholarship, thereby providing them with an education and vocational training. They are singing their songs for us.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"M\u00e4dchen der Massai singen\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Orcz-BZcoF0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A special tradition among young Maasai men is high jumping.
